RESP 2132 - Respiratory Care Seminar

4.5 Credits

The final Respiratory Care course helps prepare the near-graduating student for licensure, credentialing, and entering the job market. Topics include current professional issues and continuing education opportunities, and preparation for the examination process. The course includes intensive tutorial and simulation practice, analysis of the NBRC exam matrices, study guides and test taking tips. Successful completion of a mandatory self-assessment examination is needed to pass the course and to graduate.

Note: This course must be completed with a grade of C or better. Additional fees will be added for national board exam preperation.

Course Objectives

Review the NBRC examination matrices and content areas of credentialing examinations.
Demonstrate the cognitive skills to be a respiratory care practitioner as demonstrated by successful completion of NBRC secure exams.
Demonstrate how to apply for and schedule NBRC examinations.
Recognize the process for maintaining the RRT credential and the credential maintenance program.
