ENGL 2215 - Creative Writing Capstone


4.5 Credits

Students propose, execute, and evaluate their own original creative writing project such as a chapbook of poems, a short story, a play, or a lyric essay. In addition to presenting the work in publishable form, the student gives a public reading of the creative project.

Prerequisites: (4) ENGL 1311  , ENGL 1312  , ENGL 1313   and Instructor approval

Course Objectives
  1. Propose a cohesive work in their chosen genre.
  2. Compose an original publishable work in their chosen genre.
  3. Evaluate the publishability of the work, given the audience expectations of the genre, and explain how the work either satisfies or subverts audience expectations.
