RESP 1020 - Cardiopulmonary Anatomy and Physiology 4.5 Credits
This course is a study of advanced cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology. Special emphasis is placed on airway structures, the mechanics of ventilation, blood gas transport, and acid-base balance.
Prerequisites: (3) BIOS 1310 or BIOS 2320 ; CHEM 1010 ; and acceptance into the Respiratory Therapy (RPTAS) program

Course Objectives 1. Identify the major structures of the cardiopulmonary system.
2. Describe the functions of the structures within the cardiopulmonary system.
3. Discuss the interrelationships of the structure and function of the cardiopulmonary system with the Physiological functions of the human body.
4. Discuss how pathologic conditions of the cardiopulmonary dysfunction effects the cardiopulmonary system.
