INTD 2520 - Professional Practice 3.0 Credits
This course includes the study of the responsibilities and duties of the professional interior designer as related to the business aspect of interior design. Upon completion of this course, students are familiar with the procedures of establishing a business, legal responsibilities, ethics and conduct, marketing, trade sources, contracts, and the project management process.

Course Objectives
- Identify various segments of the interior design profession to include residential and commercial design.
- Identify interior design professional organizations and the benefits of each.
- Explain the benefits and process of professional advancement.
- Explain the ethical and legal responsibilities of the interior designer.
- Discuss methods of project compensation and design contract preparation.
- Recall types of trade sources.
- Describe codes and warranties in terms of interior design products and services.
- Explain the project management process.
- Recall types of business formations.
- Discuss the fundamentals of marketing to include branding, target marketing, methods of business promotion and selling.
- Write a cover letter and resume.
