HLSM 1016 - Plant Propagation


4.5 Credits

Students learn the principles and practices of propagation. Students study the physiological development of plants from seed to maturity and vegetative propagation.  Students explore different propagation techniques and identify the best propagation techniques for different plants. 

Prerequisites: (1) HLSM 1010  

Pre/Corequisite: (1) HLSM 1012 must be taken at the same time as this course.

Course Objectives
  1. Apply vegetative propagation methods to a variety of different plants
  2. Evaluate clone viability in offspring
  3. Evaluate offspring viability in seeds
  4. Analyze predicted genetics based on predicted genetic ratios
