HLSM 1010 - Horticulture Science

Students will become familiar with horticulture terminology that is associated with morphological structures of plants including roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruits and seeds.   Students will learn to distinguish characteristics as a means of identification.

  1. Describe the terminology associated with plant classification.
  2. Identify the parts of the plant cell.
  3. Identify vegetative parts of the plant and their morphology.

  5. Relate environmental requirements to plant structures and their functions.
