DIMA 2350 - Typography II

This advanced course explores typographic concepts that integrate advanced design philosophies. Students examine type as both an analytical and structured medium as well as a metaphorical element.

Prerequisites: (2) DIMA 1310  and DIMA 1325

Course Objectives
  1. Conduct intense analysis and practice of advanced typographic elements as defined in the text.
  2. Discover and implement visual relationships between type and image.
  3. Create chart through organization of type, hierarchy, tabs.
  4. Implement metaphor through compositional arrangement, juxtaposition, and typographic manipulation.
  5. Expand knowledge of organizational elements including proportion and grid.
  6. Research and create a multi-page document.
