DIMA 1325 - Layout


4.5 Credits

Students combine typography and imagery to create one-page, multi-panel, basic multi-page, and large format layouts. The student will use a variety of traditional and digital media to produce thumbnails, rough layouts, comprehensive layouts.

Prerequisites: (2) DIMA 1305  and DIMA 1310

Course Objectives
  1. Create comprehensive layouts through the development of thumbnail sketches and rough layouts.
  2. Employ media and techniques conducive to the various stages of the layout.
  3. Distinguish between layout formats and select the format that best conveys the message of the layout.
  4. Create advertising campaigns that target a specific audience and that specific outcomes.
  5. Prepare layouts for presentation.
  6. Appraise layouts in group critiques.
  7. Create basic layouts using the computer.
