DESL 2250 - Field Service Maintenance 6.0 Credits
This course refines the safety, productivity, and situational awareness that is required of professional technicians doing field service in the heavy equipment, power generation, and construction utility trades.
Prerequisites: (3) DESL 1220 , DESL 2110 and valid Class B or A CDL

Course Objectives
- Work safely in the shop/laboratory and on service calls without harm to oneself or other students
- Gain the skill of tool usage through the hands on use of the student’s tools & heavy equipment/tools supplied by the college
- Perform HE service, inspection & maintenance with a strong emphasis on quality work and cleanliness
- Identify HE parts and components with accepted industry terminology and schematics
- Diagnose sophisticated HE diagnostic tools to identify component failures
- Explain the function and theory of HE system components with proper terminology
- Properly disassemble and assemble several HE drivetrain pumps, motors, valves, and suspension components
- Properly use specialty HE rebuilding tools
- Use of industry standard and OEM HE terminology in oral and written communications
