Civil Engineering - Land Surveying (CELAN)

The Land Surveying associates degree prepares students for entry-level careers in the surveying and geospatial industry.  The program provides a strong foundation in surveying principles, measurement techniques, mapping technologies, and legal aspects of land boundaries.  Students gain hands on experiences using modern surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS equipment, drones and geographic information systems.  Coursework combines classroom instruction with fieldwork to practical skills in boundary surveying, construction staking, topographic mapping and data processing.  Graduates of the program are prepared to work as surveying technicians, instrument operators, or mapping specialists for surveying firms, engineering companies, construction contractors, and government agencies.

To earn this degree, a student must complete all required courses.
