The Collision Engineering Fundamentals Certificate provides students with foundational exposure to modern collision repair practices. Through hands-on learning in areas such as non-structural and structural repair, welding, refinishing, and estimating, students develop repair awareness and core technical understanding. The required internship reinforces these skills through real-world experience in a professional repair facility. Completion of this certificate verifies readiness to continue advanced Collision Engineering training or begin an entry-level role within the collision repair industry.

To earn this certificate, a student must complete all required courses.

  1. Demonstrate exposure and working familiarity with non-structural and structural repair operations following OEM procedures.
  2. Identify and practice safe and proper use of collision repair tools, equipment, and materials.
  3. Apply basic welding and metal straightening techniques under supervision.
  4. Perform introductory surface preparation and refinishing tasks using manufacturer technical data sheets.
  5. Explain and assist with fundamental estimating and damage-analysis processes.
  6. Exhibit professional behavior, communication, and teamwork in classroom and internship settings.
