Pathway to Associate Degree: Prototype Design (PRTOD)
This career certificate provides students with the basics needed to pursue a career in the prototyping field. Students focus on design thinking, 3D design, and applying those skills using a variety of equipment and materials. Students also learn the basics of including electronic components within their prototypes and learn the principles of sensing and motion. Upon completion of the program, potential employment opportunities exist with companies that specialize in prototyping.

Program Level Student Learning Outcomes
- Communicate ideas orally, graphically, physically, and inwriting throughout all stages of the prototype design process.
- Demonstrate skills that meet or exceed industry certifications, such as Occupational Safety and Heath Administration(OSHA), Precisions Measuring Instruments(NC3), Business Ethics(BYAG), and National Career Readiness(NCRC).
- Create innovative solutions that improve the ways in which people live and work.
- Develop career skills necessary to pursue employment in prototyping, manufacturing, and/or engineering-related fileds that use advanced and emergining technology.
