Prototype Design (PRTOD)

Location(s): South Omaha Campus


Award: Associate in Applied Science Degree

This program provides students with a mix of business, design, and prototyping education necessary for prototype development. This program builds participants’ skills with technologies for productivity, collaboration, and innovative technology skills that span across industries. Students receive hands-on learning with state-of-the-art digital fabrication technology and internship opportunities.

Communication

Select 1 course from either the list of Natural Sciences   or Social Sciences  General Education courses.

The following plan is designed to be the most direct path to degree completion and is based on a fall quarter start. Students are expected to meet with their student success navigator or advisor to plan a customized course schedule that meets their specific needs. Program Level Student Learning Outcomes


  1. Communicate ideas orally, graphically, physically, and inwriting throughout all stages of the prototype design process.
  2. Demonstrate skills that meet or exceed industry certifications, such as Occupational Safety and Heath Administration(OSHA), Precisions Measuring Instruments(NC3), Business Ethics(BYAG), and National Career Readiness(NCRC).
  3. Create innovative solutions that improve the ways in which people live and work.
  4. Develop career skills necessary to pursue employment in prototyping, manufacturing, and/or engineering-related fileds that use advanced and emergining technology.
  5. Recognize the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning throughout their careers.
