To earn this certificate, a student must complete all required courses.
Total credit hours required: 31.5

This career certificate is for individuals who are seeking to up-skill or retool themselves to working with Autodesk Revit (a BIM - Building Information Modeling) software to produce construction documents for mechanical systems (including HVAC and plumbing) in buildings. Prior experience with construction documentation is recommended.

BIM Mechanical (BIMME)

The following plan is designed to be the most direct path to degree completion and is based on a fall quarter start. Students are expected to meet with their student success navigator or advisor to plan a customized course schedule that meets their specific needs. Program Level Student Learning Outcomes


  1. Describe discipline-specific engineering components as they are integrated into buildings.
  2. Examine how the components of engineering systems relate to one another and architecture to support the holistic functioning of buildings.
  3. Operate industry relevant software to demonstrate knowledge and technical proficiency related to buildings. 
  4. Interpret the design of building engineering systems in buildings.
  5. Create construction documentation for structural, mechanical, electrical, low-voltage, or plumbing systems in buildings.
