Award: Career Certificate
Pathway to Associate Degree: Associate in Applied Science - Information Technology (AASIT)
This Level 1 certificate provides students with industry-standard foundational IT knowledge. Students learn foundational skills and concepts covering computer hardware, operating systems, and networking.
The certificate’s curriculum directly aligns to the following IT industry certifications: CompTIA IT Fundamentals+, CompTIA A+, Microsoft Desktop Associate (MDA), and Cisco Certified Network Associated (CCNA). The curriculum also introduces objectives for the Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) certification.
Note: This level I certificate falls under the Information Systems and Technologies concentration. It can be completed on its own and is also part of the AASIT degree.
To complete the AASIT degree, it must be combined with one of the following the Level II certificates:
- Cisco Network Technician (CANCC)
- Cloud/Server Administration Career Certificate (ITCSA)
- Cybersecurity Career Certificate (CYBCC)
- IT Support (ITSCC)

To earn this degree, a student must complete all required courses.
