Program Level Student Learning Outcomes
- Be prepared both academically and experientially for entry- level employment in the manufacturing, bio processing, power generation, thermal generation, food processing, water treatment and other process industries.
- Appraise hazards found in the manufacturing, power and process industries and know the procedures and requirements regarding safety, PPE, and environmental issues.
- Describe core functions and operating fundamentals of manufacturing, power and process equipment including boilers, turbines, chillers, generators, diesel engines, fans, compressors, dryers, filters, motors, motor control and distribution centers, pumps, valves, valve operators, distillation towers, reactors, cooling towers, and other related manufacturing and production equipment.
- Apply mathematics, chemistry, electrical and physics theory as required for the safe operation, maintaining, repairing, monitoring, and recording of manufacturing, power and process equipment and systems required to operate and control manufacturing, power and process plants.
- Apply critical thinking to find, evaluate, analyze and synthesize information to solve problems related to manufacturing, power and process equipment and systems.
- Interpret various drawings, then using appropriate measuring devices and techniques, demonstrate the ability to trouble shoot basic hydraulic and electrical systems.
