This career certificate gives students the information and skills needed for the installation and maintenance of programmable logic controllers as used in industry, building maintenance, and entertainment.

Program Level Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate skills required to visualize and interpret industrial prints
  2. Describe mechanical power system essentials and demonstrate proper maintenance, removal, and installation procedures.
  3. Demonstrate an understanding of basic PLC fundamentals and programming logic.
  4. Demonstrate an understanding of the development of ladder logic using block instructions.
  5. Apply knowledge gained to create a PLC program, download, debug, and troubleshoot a machine in an industrial setting.
