Interior Design (IDAS1)

Location(s): Elkhorn Valley Campus


Award: Associate in Applied Science Degree
Academic Focus Area: Creative Arts and Design
 

This degree provides students with aesthetic design knowledge and skills and a practical knowledge of retail and business procedures in the area of interior products and services. Job opportunities include positions as interior design assistants and consultants and sales personnel for local interior product retailers and vendors. All INTD prefix courses, with the exception of INTD 2981 , transfer to the University of Nebraska at Kearney’s Interior Design program. Ask an advisor for details.

The following plan is designed to be the most direct path to degree completion and is based on a fall quarter start. Students are expected to meet with their student success navigator or advisor to plan a customized course schedule that meets their specific needs.   4. Develop and strengthen resume and interviewing skills.
  5. Review and acquire comprehensive knowledge of interior design elements and skills for use as a practicing professional.
  6. Apply accumulated interior design knowledge, space planning, orthographic and 3D drawing skills.
  7. Apply knowledge learned in the critical areas of specific codes and requirements related to interior design and to public safety.
