MFGT 1030 - Introduction to Quality and Continuous Improvement

This course introduces students to quality and continuous improvement as it relates to process, power, and manufacturing. Topics include drawings and symbols, properties and behavior of materials, quality management principles, techniques, and tools. Students gain skills in measurement and analysis along with components and system calibration.

Course Objectives
1. Discuss and use print reading, multi-view drawings, and symbols.  
2. Apply basic mathematical techniques to solve problems, perform conversions, and make decisions.  
3. Demonstrate the use of measurement tools.  
4. Explain measurement and its relationship to process control, process information, quality, and testing.  
5. Describe geometric dimensioning, tolerance standards, and inspection procedures found in the process, power, and manufacturing industries.  
6. Describe and practice the skills necessary for implementation and management of quality assurance and control in process, power and manufacturing industries.
