MFGT 2330 - Facilities Operations III 6.0 Credits
This course introduces students to skills generally required for entry-level employment in a critical facility. Topics include diesel engine theory and design, gas turbine theory and design, air-compressor theory and design, refrigeration theory, chiller design, electric generator theory and design, electrical distribution, electrical systems management, and fire safety and protection.

Course Objectives
- Describe the design, operation, and maintenance of diesel engines found in critical facilities.
- Describe the design, operation, and maintenance of gas turbines
- Describe the design, operation, and maintenance of air-compressor machinery.
- Explain the theory, construction, and design of HVAC and refrigeration machines.
- Explain the theory, construction, and design of electric generators.
- Describe the systems and equipment used for electrical distribution within the facility.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the power grid and electrical distribution to the facility.
- Describe the theory and operation of various fire control systems found in a facility.
