MFGT 1100 - Process Instrumentation and Control 6.0 Credits
This course introduces instruments and controls used to monitor, maintain, and control industrial processes. Topics include instruments used to measure, record, monitor, maintain and adjust temperatures, pressures, flows, and levels.

Course Objectives
- Students will demonstrate an understanding of the terms used in process control
- Students will demonstrate an understanding of instrument tags and their use
- Students will develop and demonstrate an understanding of piping and instrumentation diagrams
- Students will develop an understanding of loop controllers
- Students will develop an understanding of final control elements
- Students will demonstrate an understanding of level measurement
- Students will demonstrate an understanding of liquid level control
- Students will develop an understanding of methods used in automatic controls
- Students will demonstrate knowledge of basic flow measurement and control
- Students will demonstrate a knowledge of ultrasonic level measurement and control
- Students will demonstrate a knowledge of differential pressure flow measurement and control
- Students will demonstrate a knowledge of control loop performance
