ENGR 1000 - First -Year Engineering Seminar

Students learn about the many disciplines of engineering and construction.  Students also learn about and begin building the skills critical to being a successful engineering student and future engineer.  In addition, students develop the skills needed to transition into college and strategies for transferring into UNO/UNL College of Engineering.

Course Objectives
  1. Recognize academic and campus resources available to engineering students.
  2. Reflect on the different engineering disciplines, career outcomes, and experiential learning opportunities to support your goals and career interests.
  3. Engage with engineering departments.
  4. Reflect on each of The Complete Engineer Competencies, the essential non-technical skills critical to be a competent engineer.
  5. Apply self-management skills & success strategies to help you transition to college and prepare for future classes.
