INFO 2648 - Programming for Data Analytics 4.5 Credits
Students gain hands-on experience gathering, cleaning, and manipulating data to provide insights into real-world datasets. Current programming languages and libraries active in the industry of data science will be used such that students will gain experience in working with data from a raw data set stage through to pattern identification and visualization creation. Specifically, this course builds on concepts introduced in pre-requisite courses to provide this end-to-end view of working with data in an industry appropriate language.

Course Objectives
- Load and provide basic descriptions of loaded data.
- Create common data structures.
- Create visualizations using standard libraries.
- Combine multiple sources to form a single data set.
- Identify and apply appropriate strategies in adjusting for missing data.
- Use common strategies to manipulate a data set for analysis.
- Identify and convert between data types.
- Use common methods for strings.
- Write and apply a function across a data structure.
- Group a subset of data for aggregation, filtering or transformation.
