INTD 1420 - History of Furniture 4.5 Credits
This course is a study of furniture styles from antiquity through modern times. Students become familiar with various historical movements or periods in furniture design and learn to recognize characteristics of each style.

Course Objectives
- Identify terminology and visual examples of major historic furniture designs from antiquity to present day.
- Identify major furniture characteristics, motifs, and decorative techniques from antiquity to present day.
- Relate selected furniture and decorative accessories to a chronological timeline.
- Identify prominent designers and craftsmen associated with selected furniture and decorative accessories from historical to contemporary time periods.
