CNST 2100 - Construction Safety (30-Hour)

This course provides students with training outlined by the Occupation Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Many contractors require this course for anyone working in a supervisory capacity.

Course Objectives
  1. Explore OSHA standards.
  2. Discuss and debate general safety and health provisions.
  3. List and define health hazard and personal protective equipment.
  4. Define proper fire protection and prevention.
  5. Examine the various forms of material handling, storage, use and disposal.
  6. Develop and record safe working practices with tools - hand and power.
  7. List and record safe working practices with electrical.
  8. Define safe working practices with ladders and scaffolding.
  9. Discuss and examine working with Floor and wall openings and stairways.
  10. Examine safety related to Crane’s derricks, hilts, elevators, and conveyors.
  11. Discuss safety as related to Motor vehicles, mechanized equipment, and marine operations.
  12. Underline the need for safety in Excavation.
