ENTR 1050 - Introduction to Entrepreneurship

Students evaluate the business skills and commitment necessary to successfully operate an entrepreneurial venture and review the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship. Students understand the role of entrepreneurial business in the United States and the impact on national and global economy. Students prepare a realistic foundational business plan appropriate to the launch of a small business.

Explain the nature of entrepreneurship as a form of business ownership.
Explore the characteristics of an entrepreneur.

Introduce the management, financial, marketing, and legal skills necessary to successfully operate and grow an entrepreneurial business venture.
Evaluate the methods of entering an entrepreneurial venture to include starting a new business, buying an existing business, and becoming a franchisee.
Identify global aspects of an entrepreneurial business.
