SCIE 1010 - Physical Science 6.0 Credits
This course is a survey in physical science with emphasis on scientific processes. It emphasizes the chemical and physical principles needed to better understand the world. The course may also include topics from astronomy, geology, and meteorology. This course includes both lecture and lab components.

Course Objectives
- Use the principles of physical science and the associated mathematics, when appropriate, in their career field.
- Recognize that the basic principles of physical science are the foundation of many technologies and that understanding these principles helps them better perform their job.
- Have confidence in their ability to understand and apply the concepts principles of physical science.
- Utilize their classroom experience in such a way as to:
a. follow instructions
b. work cooperatively or independently
c. experiment logically using the scientific method
d. solve problems that involve both mathematical processes and physical concepts
e. make accurate measurements using the appropriate systems
f. explain the basic principles involved in mechanics, heat, electricity and magnetism, light, optics, atoms, matter and chemistry, meteorology, and astronomy topics.
