This course addresses study skills for mathematics, student learning styles, and math anxiety. Topics include operations with whole numbers, properties of the real number system, and an introduction to fractions.

Course Objectives

1. Recognize and develop skills to help resolve math anxiety.

2. Attain mastery of addition and multiplication facts through tens.

3. Recognize place values of the whole number system through billions.

4. Add (up to four digits), subtract (up to four digits), multiply (up to three digits by three digits) and divide (up to five digits by two digits) whole numbers.

5. Recognize the different parts and types of fractions and manipulate fractions from one form to another

6. Solve application problems that involve whole numbers.
