JAPN 2020 - Intermediate Japanese II 4.5 Credits
This course is the second of four sequential quarter courses that comprise a traditional second-year college Japanese course. Students learn intermediate and everyday functional skills in speaking, listening, reading, writing, comprehension, and vocabulary.

Course Objectives 1. Use intermediate, daily Japanese vocabulary.
2. Express oneself orally in a variety of everyday situations in Japanese.
3. Develop skimming and scanning skills.
4. Develop basic writing skills, including descriptions / directions and some functional writing tasks.
5. Express representative actions / states and a purpose.
6. Use expressions for giving and receiving.
7. Give permission / advice and express a negative request.
8. Express a state of action / a preparatory action.
9. Understand the difference and usage of transitive and intransitive verbs.
10. Express an attempt and a just completed action.
