INFO 2946 - Server Administration Capstone/ Internship

This is a capstone course in which students apply the knowledge gained in previous classes to explore and implement problem-solving techniques and approaches that lead to solutions for hardware and software problems in a simulated work environment. Students communicate and work in multiple settings. All solutions are implemented using a virtual server environment. This course is offered Fall and Spring quarters.

Course Objectives

Display proficiency in networking terminology.
Demonstrate effective communication, human relations skills, and team aspects of network support.
Utilize appropriate math skills and troubleshooting techniques when problem solving.
Demonstrate problem-solving skills to assess a set of criteria and propose and implement an appropriate solution
Install, monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot workstation and network operating systems and methods to manage them.
Use software applications, networking utilities, and the support options for them.
Effectively use appropriate programming, scripting, and logic to fulfill networking support requirements.
Implement security principals as appropriate.
Develop, implement, and document plans for supporting the network environment.
Maintain a safe and secure work environment.
