INFO 2945 - Database Administration Capstone/ Internship

Students will have an opportunity to integrate the skills and knowledge acquired throughout the database curriculum. Students develop, manage, and administer a database project from conception to delivery for production. This is the final course for the Database Administration option. This course is offered Fall and Spring quarters.

Course Objectives

Analyze a given database business problem from requirements given by the client.
Create the conceptual, logical, and physical designs of a new or existing database project, based on data requirements of the client.
Normalize the database tables represented in the conceptual design.
Write scripts to create the database tablespaces, users and objects.
Implement and test the database.
Write SQL statements, procedures, functions, and triggers to extract and manipulate data to satisfy the needs of the client.
Document all aspects of the database system.
Create a professional presentation of the completed database project.
Work effectively in a team environment to solve a database business problem.
