HMSV 2991 - Practicum I - General Human Services 6.0 Credits
This course provides students with field opportunities to expand and apply their practical and classroom experience. Along with the field experience, the student is required to successfully complete a practicum seminar in conjunction with the assigned practicum.
Prerequisites: Instructor Approval. Student needs to complete the practicum application that includes resume, helping philosophy, CPR certification, and background check.

Course Objectives
- Explain the staffing pattern of the agency.
- Explain and assess the various positions available in the agency and the educational requirement for the positions.
- State the philosophy of the agency.
- Demonstrate professional attitude and dress on practicum site.
- Define confidentiality and maintain it at all times.
- Demonstrate entry-level ability to work with clients.
- Attend weekly scheduled seminar times with practicum instructor.
- Demonstrate ethical behavior.
- Demonstrate being on time for work site.
