FIST 1070 - Fire Protection Systems 3.0 Credits
This course provides information relating to the features of design and operation of fire alarm systems, water-based fire suppression systems, special hazard fire suppression systems, water supply for fire protection, and portable fire extinguishers.

Course Objectives
- Identify the different types of detection and suppresion systems used in buildings for fire protection.
- Understand the protection / system relationship well as the various automatic extinguishing systems currently in operation.
- Learn about past tragedies which led to the adaptation of these systems in occupied structures.
- Undestand the prioritization of safety practices, interpersonal and teamwork skills,
- Understand appropriate written and verbal communication skills using the terminology of the occupation.
- Organization/industry will also be stressed.
