Course Objectives

Analyze rhetorical elements in short stories.
Contextualize short stories biographically, socially, culturally, philosophically, and historically.
Identify and examine multiple perspectives in and among short stories.
Discover universal themes in short stories.
Explore and articulate their own perspectives on universal themes in short stories.
Demonstrate an appreciation of short stories through discussion, writing, and independent engagement with literary art.
