ENGL 1010 - English Composition I 4.5 Credits
Students cultivate the critical thinking, analytical reading, and systematic writing practices that are foundational to college-level academic writing by expanding their own knowledge and openly engaging with new and challenging ideas through reflection, analysis, and critique. Using writing as a process that includes planning, drafting, instructor and peer feedback, revision, and reflection, students compose multiple essays and projects in a variety of genres. Students become self-aware, independent, confident writers who take ownership of their own writing process.
