Students learn the principles, calculations, and cutting of all components of gable, hip, and valley rafters. Students frame an actual roof on a house in the indoor lab.

7. Differentiate of hip, valley and jack rafters

8. Recognize allowances required in the cutting of rafters

9. Assess layout and cutting of a roof

10. Estimate material and labor required
