WELD 2241 - Flux-Cored Arc Welding II 3.0 Credits
Students learn gas shielded and self-shielded flux-cored arc welding in the horizontal and overhead positions using semi-automatic equipment.
Prerequisites: (1) WELD 2240

Course Objectives
- Properly and safely set up Flux-cored Arc Welding equipment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of shielding gasses and electrodes used in the FCAW-G & FCAW-S processes.
- Use Flux-cored Arc Welding processes (FCAW-G & FCAW-S) to safely produce welds on carbon steel.
- Produce quality single-pass fillet welds, meeting specific size criteria, in the horizontal and overhead positions.
- Produce quality multi-pass fillet welds, meeting specific size criteria, in the horizontal and overhead positions.
- Produce quality multi-pass groove welds in the horizontal and overhead positions.
- Pass destructive tests, to include guided bend, cut & etch, and fillet weld break tests.
