WELD 2200 - Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) - Steel II 3.0 Credits
This course is a continuation of GMAW - Steel I. Students will learn fillet and groove welds in the horizontal and overhead positions and the application of pulsed-spray transfer, culminating in the student passing a Welder qualification test in both the horizontal and overhead positions.
Prerequisites: (1) WELD 1200 with a grade of C or better

Course Objectives
- Set the GMAW (MIG) welding equipment to perform the pulsed spray mode of metal transfer.
- Perform single pass fillet welds in the horizontal and overhead welding positions.
- Perform multi-pass fillet welds in the horizontal and overhead welding positions.
- Perform a single pass groove weld in the horizontal and overhead welding positions.
- Perform a multi-pass groove weld in the horizontal and overhead welding positions.
- Perform and pass a welder qualification test in the flat and overhead positions.
