PHOT 2107 - Intermediate Photographic Lighting


6.0 Credits

Utilizing the information obtained in the Basic Photographic Lighting course, students advance their knowledge of electronic photographic lighting equipment and modification.  Students learn to use and modify the off camera flash (speedlights), as well as balancing natural and artificial light, photographing on location in large and small spaces, and the creative application of flash techniques.

Prerequisites: (1) PHOT 1107   with a grade of C or better

Course Objectives
  1. Create photographic imagery using and modifying off-camera flash photographic lighting equipment.
  2. Create photographic imagery using the white balance card.
  3. Apply photographic lighting design for large spaces outside of a studio environment.
  4. Apply photographic lighting design for small spaces outside of a studio environment.
  5. Apply knowledge of the equipment and its modification to creative or non-traditional imagery.
