PHOT 2105 - Photographic Concept Development 6.0 Credits
Students learn the practical steps necessary to move from the formation of an idea to the professional execution of that idea. Students also address contemporary issues in the realm of fine art and commercial photography.
Prerequisites: (1) PHOT 1103 or PHOT 1104 with a grade of C or better

Course Objectives 1. Use photographic media and methods in new and experimental ways.
2. Demonstrate an increased technical ability in relation to the materials.
3. Choose photographic materials appropriate to the intended imagery.
4. Create compositions with effective pictorial space.
5. Demonstrate creativity through unique visual solutions to visual problems with an emphasis on developing an individual “voice”.
6. Demonstrate an ability to communicate intentional content.
7. Discuss the variety of subjects and content present in contemporary photography.
8. Research, plan, explore and develop concepts for making art through a developed sketchbook habit.
9. Define personal interests and reach personal image making goals.
10. Participate in class critiques.
