DIMA 2410 - 2-D Animation and Compositing II 4.5 Credits
Students create original 2-D animation focusing on character and story development. Building on skills acquired in DIMA 1410, students produce a segment of a group project and an individual project. This course strengthens animation design and problem-solving, collaborative production abilities, and personal vision. Students further explore compositing and animation software.
Prerequisites: (1) DIMA 1410

Course Objectives
- Work as an individual to produce finished animation.
- Work as a member of a group to produce finished animation.
- Rework static artwork created for prerequisite classes into actual 2-D animated pieces.
- Research a variety of animation techniques for achieving both motion and emotion.
- Apply critical reasoning skills to the analysis of forms that rely on the element of time.
- Demonstrate understanding of animation production from storyboard to finished piece.
- Create 2-D animations that communicate ideas and emotions using a variety of styles and approaches.
