DIMA 1410 - 2-D Animation and Compositing I 4.5 Credits
Students explore animation compositing software and techniques as they create 2-D animation using traditional cell techniques and computer-based 2-D animation programs. This course strengthens drawing skills, provides experience with collaborative production, and increases knowledge of animation concepts.
Prerequisites: (2) DIMA 1220 and ARTS 1010

Course Objectives
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of the history of animation.
- Research a variety of animation techniques and processes using both traditional and computer-based tools.
- Create a variety of animations using researched techniques.
- Develop a methodical process for executing movement.
- Integrate and correlate sound and movement.
- Apply critical reasoning skills to the analysis of forms that rely on the element of time.
- Create a final animation project that demonstrates an understanding of technical and aesthetic approach.
