DIMA 2352 - Publication Design


4.5 Credits

Students practice the design and production of multi-page printed publications such as books, magazines, newspapers, corporate reports, and catalogs. Students will accomplish a unity among the text, graphics and layout so as to convey the content’s message efficiently, give the design an esthetic value, and improve a publication’s commercial possibilities.

Prerequisites: (1) DIMA 1325

Course Objectives
  1. Explain how publication design and its various applications are similar and different from other forms of graphic design.
  2. Identify the components of a publication, and explain how they function.
  3. Create multi-page layouts for mass media and special interest.
  4. Analyze real-world publication design scenarios through case studies.
