DESL 2230 - Diesel Engine Rebuild 4.0 Credits
Students learn to do both in-chassis and out-of-chassis diesel engine rebuilds.
Prerequisites: (1) DESL 1230 with a grade of C or better or verifiable experience
Pre/Corequisite: (1) DESL 2211 with a grade of C or better or verifiable experience

Course Objectives
- Work safely in the shop/laboratory without harm to oneself or other students
- Gain the skill of tool usage through the hands on use of the student’s own tools and equipment/tools supplied by the college
- Perform diesel engine disassembly, inspection, and assembly with emphasis on quality work
- Identify diesel engine components
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines
- Explain the function and theory of diesel engine components
- Learn how to properly use diesel engine tools and test equipment
- Use of industry standard and OEM diesel engine terminology in oral and written communications
