DESL 2200 - Steering and Suspension 4 Credits
Students will learn to repair, align, and maintain heavy-duty truck steering and suspension systems.
Prerequisites: (1) DESL 1000 with a grade of C or better
Pre/Corequisite: (1) Take DESL 1200 with a grade of C or better

Course Objectives
- Demonstrate safe work habits in the shop/laboratory without harm to oneself or other students
- Demonstrate the proper use of automotive repair tools through the hands-on use of the student’s own tools and equipment/tools supplied by the college
- Perform steering and suspension component disassembly, inspection and assembly with a strong emphasis on quality work
- Identify steering and suspension parts and components
- Explain steering and suspension component failures
- Explain the function and theory of steering and suspension components
- Properly disassemble and assemble steering and suspension systems
- Demonstrate proper use of specialty steering and suspension tools
- Define and explain proper steering and suspension terminology
