AUTB 2230 - Nonstructural Repair IV


6.0 Credits

This class requires students to repair and refinish collision damage equal to 30 flat-rate hours. It stresses MIG welding and suspension damage.

Prerequisites: (1) Within the last 2 years, successful completion of AUTB 1220 must be completed prior to taking this course.

Course Objectives
1.    Properly work with plastics and adhesives.

2.    Analyze quarter panel damage and determine whether sectioning or full panel replacement is required.

3.    Apply the principles and techniques of removing a damaged quarter panel.

4.    Apply principles of proper surface preparation before welded panel replacement.

5      Properly align and install a quarter panel.

6.    Apply knowledge of wheel alignment angles and measurements.

7.    Identify and diagnose steering wheel angle-related problems.

8.    Understand front wheel alignment adjustments.
