ARTS 2130 - Intermediate Sculpture 4.5 Credits
This hands-on studio course is a continuation of ARTS 2030. A wider range of choices are left to the individual within a structured environment of criticism and instruction. Students are encouraged to explore personal areas of interest. They are required to develop a familiarity with the history of sculpture and master chosen sculpture techniques.

Course Objectives
- Investigate the work of historical and contemporary sculptors through written and/or verbal presentations and work with the instructor to establish goals for the creation of a conceptual body of sculptural work.
- Create a proposal that outlines a conceptual body of sculptureal work.
- Produce a body of sculptural work that illustrates a deeper understanding of form, mass, structure, space and content.
- Create original sculpture that demonstrates an intermediate level of skill in handling a variety of sculpture materials and processes.
- Apply knowledge of how to operate and maintain sculpture tools and help maintain a sculpture studio.
- Analyze and evaluate the conceptual and technical quality of sculpture using correct terminology.
