ACCT 1215 - QuickBooks for Small Business 4.5 Credits
Students learn to utilize the QuickBooks Online software to record transactions related to sales, expenses, inventory, and payroll, including receipts and payments. Using the software, students adjust accounts and generate financial statements and reports.
Pre/Corequisite: (1) ACCT 1100 or ACCT 1050 with a grade of C or better must be completed prior to or at the same time as this course.

Course Objectives
- Set up a new QuickBooks Online company and customize Chart of Accounts to suit business needs.
- Enter Banking transactions, including making deposits, writing checks, and preparing a bank reconciliation.
- Enter Customer and Sales transactions, utilizing the customer list to prepare sales receipts, invoices, receive payments, and deposits.
- Enter Vendor and Expense transactions, utilizing the vendor list to enter and pay bills and the products and services lists to create purchase orders and account for inventory.
- Enter Employee and Payroll transactions, including payroll setup, payroll processing, time tracking, and preparing payroll tax forms.
- Prepare adjusting entries and various QuickBooks Online reports.
