Program Level Student Learning Outcomes

1. Demonstrate effective communication, both orally and in writing, and discuss basic principles of ethics in the construction industry.
2. Demonstrate the ability to estimate quantities, costs, and schedule work for a basic construction project.
3. Demonstrate the ability to use current technology to interpret construction documents (contracts, specifications, and drawings) and manage the construction process.
4. Apply basic principles of construction accounting.
5. Use basic surveying techniques used in building layout.
6. Identify the fundamentals of contracts, codes, and regulations that govern a construction project.
7. Recognize basic construction methods, materials, and equipment, including basic principles of structural design and MEP systems.
8. Recognize basic safety hazards on a construction site and standard prevention measures.
