CULI 1230 - Nutrition & Wellness 4.5 Credits
Students actively explore the dynamic relationship between food and personal well-being, by learning foods, nutrients, physical activities, preparation, and cookery methods that support health and balance in the studied areas of wellness. Students design and build a plan for their own wellness and practice the skills needed to activate that plan.
Prerequisites: (2) CULI 1110 and CULI 1130 must be completed prior to taking this course.

Course Objectives
- Discuss and define the key facts about nutrition and their relationship to wellness.
- Practice cookery methods that allow them to improve their nutrition for the varying needs of different aspects of their own wellness.
- Select and engage in a physical wellness program or routine that suits their preference and lifestyle.
- Engage in processes that acknowledge and support good mental health.
- Create a life plan that is balanced in all areas of wellness, to increase their likelihood of long-term persistence in the hospitality industry.
